From Non-Binary to Believer + Holly's Health Update and Upcoming Resources

From Non-Binary to Believer

Talli came to Christ a year ago after attending a Fall Retreat with Cru where Holly was the speaker. She did not come to Christ over the weekend, but the week after, when Holly invited her for coffee and offered to go over the gospel with her. Talli identified as non-binary, using “they/them” pronouns and going by the name, Augustus.

It’s been a year now that the two have been faithfully meeting and Talli has taken many steps of faith. She broke up with her boyfriend of three years because he wasn’t a believer. She found a church on her own and a women’s small group to attend.  She’s been talking about her faith with her family. Two weeks ago, she we baptized with her small group surrounding her.

After going through Holly’s discipleship curriculum, they started to read a study called, “Male & Female He Created Them: A Study on Gender, Sexuality & Marriage.” This past week, Holly asked her how she’s been transformed over the past year of walking with Jesus. Talli said, “I now accept myself for who God created me to be, a woman. I have broken down the walls I put up from others’ views of me. I have joy and peace.” Praise God for this transformed life!

May Talli’s story remind us: She heard the gospel multiple times at the retreat (by Holly!) but it was only during a one-on-one conversation that she made the decision to follow Jesus. Let us not assume inviting people to church and having someone else share the gospel is enough. They need someone to lead them to a point of decision and accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Second, there are many people confused with the world’s ideology of gender. Many young people prefer to say they are bisexual just so that they aren’t considered homophobic! The goal is to lead them to Jesus, teach them the word of God, get them into biblical community and we will see lives transformed over time!  Let’s not give up on this generation or be too intimated to disciple them! God is bigger than that!

Holly’s Health and Upcoming Resources

Holly will be having three MRIs done on her neck and head on Nov 15th. Please pray that this will reveal what is causing her migraines. She’s also started to have vertigo which is hindering her from being productive.

Holly has a new podcast series on systematic theology that she will add a lesson every week on our website or on the podcast app. She is teaching 20 weeks on theology to help those who want a clearer foundation of what doctrines are foundational to the Christian faith.

She will also have her second edition of “Follow My Lead” out by the end of November. There are four new chapters that will give practical ways to engage with someone in a spiritual conversation. She is excited to get this in the hands of others who want to grow in learning how to share Jesus with others. It can be purchased on our website soon!

Thank you for your prayers and support for us and our ministry! We couldn’t do what we do if it wasn’t for your prayers and support so that we could focus on reaching others!
