Transformed Lives at “Called to Freedom” Fall Retreat

Speaking at Idyllwild Pine Camp on how we are called to freedom with students from AZ and CA this month was a nice break from studying Greek! A highlight was bringing my mom and kids with me to enjoy the mountains and cooler weather!

Three students came from Huntington University where I lead a weekly Bible study. Jeremey started to seek God after his mom passed away from COVID a year ago. He’s very close to committing his life to Jesus and this retreat helped him better understand how to fully commit his life to Christ and walk in freedom. He attends a Bible study on campus, so please pray he will come to Christ soon!

One young man from Cal Poly Pomona, named David, came up to me after the first night and said, “I knew someone was going to tell me that I needed to change and so I came here determined I was not going to change. Tonight, you told me I needed to change. I don’t know what happened, but I knew I needed to change. It was like I could not hold back any longer.” Another student wrote me an anonymous note that said, “Your talk really convicted me and my partner this weekend. We had a really good convo, and are going to take steps forward to move out of sin. Thank you! It was a hard realization, but so needed in order to grow!” I love speaking at these weekend retreats because lives are forever changed!

Talli, a student from my campus, who identifies as nonbinary, and prefers the name Augustus, the name of the avatar she created, came to the retreat knowing no one! After the retreat, we met up at a Starbucks to talk about her spiritual journey and I asked if I could share a clearer presentation of the gospel. She said yes. It was there in Starbucks Talli gave her life to Christ! She said she finally felt free and that all of her guilt was gone! She will be joining our weekly Bible study and I will begin discipling her. Praise God for her courage to come to the retreat and for the Spirit’s calling on her life!

Thank you for being a part of impacting this next generation by partnering with us! Please continue to pray for us as we continue to be in the process of raising support. We are still in need of $1,400 in monthly support. Would you prayerfully consider joining our team at $50 or $100 a month, increasing your monthly support if you are already a partner, or joining us in praying others might join our team if you are not able to financially give yourself? You can sign up to partner with us on the provided button below. Our prayer is to be fully funded by Thanksgiving so that the stress of finances are behind us before the holidays. Thank you!
